Gamers tend to look at the game size, meaning how many people are currently playing the game already before they join it. The game, World of WarCraft brags about their amazingly popular game featuring over 6 million active players. Is Blizzard really making the right decision to advertise their large game size population? Yes, we know it's a great mmorpg game, but the gamer is asking himself, "Am I too late."

Games like World of Warcraft, and RuneScape have an overflow of players that makes newcomers feel that they jumped on the boat too late. Why start playing a game 5 or 6 years after the game has been developed and you have all these guys with super crazy armor and swords that can take down armies of thousands.

On the other hand, smaller MMORPG's like Puzzle Pirates get the advantage of having small user groups. Yes they don't make as much money, but from a new player point of view, its lands that have been unconquered, a chance to make oneself great before others get to that opportunity!

Puzzle Pirates, an mmorpg based driven on the base that a small beginner pirate can make his way to the top through skill and persistance is displays a perfect example of unexplored oceans. How to Find Northrend?

You will see Northrend on your map above and centered between Kalmidor and The Eastern Kingdom. Northrend was opened in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and presents you with new mobs and quests. It would be a good idea to get to Northrend as soon as you can to speed up your leveling and to get access to the upgraded gear and it is always nice to see new worlds and mobs. You can expect to spend most of your time from level 68-80 here, at least until cataclysm comes out.

Alliance Paths to Northrend

Alliance players can make their way to two areas of Northrend, Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. To get to Borean Tundra you can take a boat from Stormwind (the northermost dock) straight to it. If you Would rather go to Howling Fjord take a boat from Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands.

How to Get Around Without Flight Paths, Tundra - Fjord

You can make your way up the coastline until you encounter a tusker that will have a giant turtle harbored for you to ride from Borean Tundra to Howling Fjord with a short stop in Dragonblight where you can switch turtles. Their is no cost for the ride and is very similar to riding the boats. You can cross the map on the turtles, and then open up flight paths on both ends of the ride as well as stopping off when in Dragonblight to find the flight master near that area. This is a good way to get around till you can train cold weather flying at 77.

Where is Northrend?

Northrend is the area in World of Warcraft that was opened when the expansion Wrath of the Lich King was introduced. You will see it on your map above and centered between Kalmidor and The Eastern Kingdom.

Why Go To Northrend?

Northrend is where you will spend most of your time once you hit 68 till level 80, so it would be a good idea to get there as soon as you can to speed up your leveling and to get access to the upgraded gear and if for nothing else to have a change in scenery.

Horde Paths to Northrend

The areas for Horde players are the same general areas as those for the alliance, but not the same docks. So to get to Borean Tundra take the zeppelin from Ogrimmar, you will land across the zone at a different dock than the alliance, but be in the same area for quests, etc... If you prefer to get to Howling Fjord then take the zeppelin from Undercity, again you will have access to the same quest chains as the alliance, but be in a slightly different area.

Borean Tundra To Howling Fjord Without Flightpaths

You can find a tusker village on the coast that will have a giant turtle harbored for you to ride from Borean Tundra to Howling Fjord and vice versa one to the other, there will be a short stop in Dragonblight where you can switch turtles. This is free and is similar to riding the boats, it would be a good idea to open up flight paths on both ends of the ride as well as running in when in Dragonblight to find the flight master.
